The Viberate music database, launched in 2015 by the famous Slovenian DJ and producer Umek, provides artists with very detailed statistics, allowing them to see where they are in the art world and measure their social media performance.
What is Viberate?
Viberate, which also owns the VIB cryptocurrency, creates an artist profile by collecting data from all major social media sites, online music platforms, event ticketing services and radio stations.
The artist can see the rank in his country, in the world, in his genre and subgenre. It can instantly monitor social media interactions, listening times on online music services, subscriber numbers and many metrics in a single window. There are more than 500 000 artists in the database.
Its difference from rival sites is that it hosts 150 000 venues with live music and 6 000 festivals. Although the events and live music sessions were hit due to the pandemic, the recovery has now started. Here you can find answers to many questions such as which venues in a city offer live music, what is the event program or which artists are participating in the festival.
A monthly subscription fee of 59 Euros is required for detailed statistics. This one is a bit more geared towards artists. Despite the opinion of some authorities that statistical data will harm the creativity of music, Viberate thinks that it will become indispensable for musicians in 10 years.
