Tesla billionaire and Twitter new owner and still surprisingly bullish on Bitcoin, Elon Musk has published a roadmap that shows the app has been radically overhauled. With this development, the price of an altcoin jumped. Here are the details…

The latest developments for Twitter: Signal integration?

Encrypted private messages, long-form posts, a subscription re-launch, and payments in the app amid wild speculation that he might launch an iPhone rival and integrate the meme-based cryptocurrency Dogecoin into Twitter; It works for Twitter. Meanwhile, the Twitter iPhone code has revealed references to the Signal messaging app protocol for encrypted private messages. Musk hinted at this when he said Twitter 2.0 would add an encrypted private messaging feature.

“Twitter will adopt the Signal Protocol for encrypted DMs,” cyber detective and technology researcher Jane Manchun Wong said on Twitter. Manchun Wong shared screenshots that show the code for the Twitter iOS app references the Signal protocol. Wong also revealed that the feature is being worked on for Twitter’s Android app.

Elon Musk praised Signal

Musk had previously praised Signal and told his Twitter followers to “use Signal” rather than apps like iPhone iMessages, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp in January 2021. Signal’s open source protocol and implementation was developed by the Signal Technology Foundation, funded by the Signal Technology Foundation.

Earlier, Musk posted slides from his “Twitter company talk.” He added that he thinks “Twitter could surpass one billion monthly users in 12 to 18 months.” Last month, he said he plans to turn Twitter into a WeChat-style super app called X. Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion, also said that if iPhone manufacturer Apple and Android developer Google remove Twitter from their app stores, “it will have no choice but to produce a new smartphone.”

MobileCoin rose 300 percent

News that Twitter plans to use Signal technology for extended messaging has boosted the price of the Signal-linked MobileCoin (MOB) cryptocurrency by nearly 300 percent. The MOB went from $0.59 to as high as $3 on November 27. The price of the minor cryptocurrency Mobilecoin, which has a market cap of $140 million compared to Bitcoin’s $300 billion market cap, is currently seeing a slight correction.

Last year, Signal announced that it would begin rolling out a payment feature with additional privacy features that uses MobileCoin to better facilitate person-to-person payments. Prior to acquiring Twitter, messages between Musk and investors surfaced that he was considering adding Dogecoin and Bitcoin to the app.
