After China announced that it would directly target Starlink satellites in a possible war, a move came by the USA. Pentagon will use high-altitude balloons in possible air strikes
bubble defense from the USA
A project supported by the US Department of Defense; It is developing a method to intervene with balloons, especially against hypersonic missiles and similar high-altitude attacks of China and Russia.
The developed high-altitude balloons will be placed between 18 thousand and 27 thousand meters in the stratosphere. Balloons, which will be included in the Pentagon’s intelligence network, will detect objects such as hypersonic missiles and send news to the early warning system. The fact that the balloons are at high altitude ensures that their lifespan is extended.
Balloons managed by Raven Aerostar will also use satellite systems when appropriate. The Pentagon has spent $3.8 million on this and similar balloon projects and will raise it to $27 million by the end of 2023.
