US officials want to bring Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of bankrupt FTX, into the country for questioning.
US and Bahamian officials are discussing the possibility of Sam Bankman-Fried being brought to the US for questioning, according to sources familiar with the matter.
US Officials Want to Question SBF
Officials of the two countries have targeted SBF after the collapse of FTX. The SBF had stated that it was cooperating with the Bahamian authorities.
The SBF and its attorney have not commented on the matter. Similarly, the US Justice Department representative in Washington declined to comment.
Following the collapse of FTX, both US and Bahamian authorities launched an investigation into the matter. SBF has repeatedly apologized to FTX customers on Twitter.
SBF expressed that it was shocked that things went this way, and that he wanted to share more details on the subject after fully understanding the situation.
Lastly, SBF said that as of November 7, FTX US has enough money to cover customers’ funds. As it will be remembered, SBF said that the FTX collapse had nothing to do with FTX US, and that the funds of the customers in the USA were safe. The inclusion of FTX US in the bankruptcy filing caused the reactions to SBF to increase exponentially.
