The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a $60 million lawsuit against Larry Harmon, the founder of cryptocurrency mixing platform Helix.

In October 2022, Larry Harmon was sued for breach of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). The case was led by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, a subsidiary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The bureau, known as FinCEN, claimed that Harmon had taken illegal actions in connection with Helix. After 2 years, the parties were sued again.

Larry Harmon Fails to Pay $60 Million Fine

Even after 2 years, Helix founder Larry Harmon has not paid the $ 60 million fine given by the court. Harmon, who was stated to be conducting an illegal money-sending operation with his Tornado Cash-like platform Helix, admitted to the accusations.

In the lawsuit filed by the US Department of Justice, it was reported that Harmon, the founder of the platform, did not pay the fine. The founder, who did not implement the measures to prevent money laundering, has not paid the fine he received in return for 2 years.

According to the lawsuit, Harmon also leveraged cryptocurrencies while hiding its activities through its service. The incident, which has turned into a carp spiral for 2 years, has become widespread with the involvement of the US Department.

The Tornado Cash side was also sued and sentenced for abuse of the platform in the past months.
