The United States (US) Department of Justice’s crypto enforcement team is on the hunt for hackers and crypto thieves.
The top crypto police of the US Department of Justice said that this is a pretty significant issue given the rise of state-sponsored hackers. Stating that illegal crypto activities are increasing day by day, the US Department of Justice emphasized that more harsh steps will be taken against hackers and crypto thieves. Eun Young Choi, director of the U.S. Department of Justice crypto enforcement team (NCET), stated in a report published May 15 that she is turning to decentralization studies and events involving chain bridges.
Illegal Crypto Incidents Increasing
Illegal acts continue to draw attention in the reports published on the crypto industry. North Korean hackers, who stole $ 630 million in crypto assets over the past year, left their mark on this area. Crypto thieves, who attacked in all areas of the industry, often turned to the trending topics of that process. NFT lovers formed a large part of the community that suffered from this situation.
When we examined the first quarter of 2023, we saw a BTC reaching $ 31,000 from $ 15,600. The attackers, who took advantage of pricing the market upwards, had damaged millions of investors. These losses not only affected the investor, but also deeply affected many crypto exchanges and crypto companies. Today, stricter measures continue to be taken against illegal crypto incidents that continue without slowing down.
