The USA, which does not want China to progress in artificial intelligence and chip technologies, is following a heavy embargo process. The USA, which ties China’s business relations with the USA and companies using US equipment to the approval process, will expand this process to other countries.

Chip shock to Middle Eastern countries

According to information provided by sources, certain products, especially Nvidia’s H100 and A100 artificial intelligence accelerators, will be included in the approval process when sold to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The reason is the close relations of these countries with China. This information appeared in Nvidia and AMD’s earnings reports.

The news was that sales were banned in the first place, but the White House announced that there was no ban. As always, the USA will evaluate to whom the chips to be sold go and decide accordingly.

It is stated that Middle Eastern countries have recently ordered thousands of Nvidia artificial intelligence chips and created large-scale AI systems. However, the USA is worried that these systems will somehow be sold to China. Because in the past, China had managed to access banned technologies by all means.
