US Attorney Requests Appointment of Inspector for FTX

The US government attorney has asked the Delaware bankruptcy court to appoint an investigator in the ongoing FTX bankruptcy case.

In the court filing dated December 1, US attorney cited comments from FTX CEO John Ray III as the reason for appointing an independent investigator; showed an “almost unprecedented drop in value.”

If approved, the investigator will act as a court-appointed third-party investigator. It’s common for the government to make such a request in a complex bankruptcy such as Chapter 11 bankruptcy, where most of the companies affiliated with FTX are currently involved.
