SpaceX, of which the famous businessman Elon Musk is the CEO, continues to work on space vehicles. SpaceX, one of the world’s largest space companies, had attempted a new facility specifically for Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets. However, it seems that the company will experience some difficulties in this regard.
US Army Corps of Engineers denied permission to SpaceX due to lack of information
SpaceX’s Starship and Super Heavy booster is expected to be test flighted from Boca Chica, Texas later this year. However, the project ran into a snag again. The Federal Aviation Administration announced that it was delaying the planned launch authorization for SpaceX again. Another obstacle to the company, which was grappling with permit issues, came from the US Army Corps of Engineers.
US Army Corps of Engineers has blocked SpaceX’s application for an expansion for its Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas. The company had some plans to significantly enlarge the site as well as add new launch and landing pads to the area.
The US Army Corps of Engineers cited failure to provide the requested tracking information as a reason for blocking clearance. He also asked for more details on the measures to be taken in the use of wetlands in the region. According to the statement, SpaceX is able to break the permission barrier by providing the requested information.
Despite the delays, Musk recently spoke confidently that Starship will reach space this year. Making a statement about Starship, Musk said, “I trust that we will go into orbit this year. “We’ve made a significant breakthrough in making the course of human civilization a multi-planetary species.”
