Intel CFO David Zinsner announced in late April that the company was considering targeted price increases for products in certain segments. Japanese media are now reporting that this improvement could be implemented by the fall, with price increases of up to 20% for certain Intel product categories.
According to Nikkei Asian Review, the processor giant has already started notifying its customers of the upcoming price increase. Rising prices will include both central processors for PCs and servers, as well as a variety of auxiliary chips from Intel. The need to raise prices is explained as rising costs for materials and production. Although the specific scale of the price increases has not yet been determined, it is stated that it will vary between 10 percent and even 20 percent.
Intel products to go up in the fall
Intel representatives, on the other hand, did not deny the news of increasing the prices of their products. According to them, the company began to inform consumers about the upcoming changes. However, there are no official details about these steps. Intel’s website hasn’t posted a public price list for processors for a long time, but in the face of rising inflation, many companies are forced to do the same.
