About two weeks ago, there was an interesting dialogue between Elon Musk, the richest person in the world with a fortune of more than 300 billion dollars, and David Beasley, Director of the United Nations World Food Programme. As a result of the wrong headline that CNN threw, Beasley’s words were understood as “hunger ends with 2% of Elon Musk’s wealth”, and Musk said, “Tell me how, I will sell Tesla shares. ” he replied.

Beasley pointed out the wrong title and stated that $ 6 billion would not completely end hunger, but could help it end it. Musk, on the other hand, renewed his promise that the accounts he had expressed before this statement should be open to the public. Then Beasley invited Musk to a meeting, offering to show him the accounts and plans. While Musk did not respond to this offer, Beasley shared an article the other day in which he explained how the 6 billion dollars in question will play a role in the fight against hunger.

It takes $6.6 billion to save 42 million people:

Drawing attention to COVID, conflict, climate crisis and rising supply chain prices, Beasley announced that the lives of 45 million people are in danger. Then Beasley tagged Elon Musk, “You wanted a clean plan and open account. Request! We are ready to talk to you and anyone else who is serious about saving lives. ” he said. Afterwards, he shared the article in which the accounts were explained, saying, “To prevent hunger in 2022, 6.6 billion dollars is needed”.

According to the shared account, a total of $6.6 billion will be used for 42 million people in 43 countries across Africa in general, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Southeast and Central Asia, as follows:

  • $3.5 billion will be used for food and food delivery.
  • $2 billion will be used to issue cash and food vouchers where grocery stores can operate.
  • $700 million will be used to design, scale up and implement efficient and effective programs for millions more tons of food transfers, cash transfers and coupons adapted to domestic conditions and operational risks in 43 countries.
  • $400 million will be used for regional operations management and administration.

In the shared article, it was announced that a total of 282.7 million people around the world are at the border of hunger, along with 42 million people who were stated to be saved from hunger with 6.6 billion dollars. Elon Musk has not yet responded to the plans Beasley shared by tagging him.
