It is now possible to make a call, send a message or reply to an incoming message using a smartwatch. It is even known that the smartwatch version of WhatsApp is on the way. However, while all this was going on, a reverse move came from Meta.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, decided to remove the Messenger application, which can be used for both platforms, from Apple’s smart watches. This decision did not come out with an official announcement at the first stage. The reason for the incident, which was understood after several users shared the notification they saw on Reddit, could not be understood. A Facebook spokesperson made very classic statements.

The notification sent about the Apple Watch was as follows:

“Messenger changes for Apple Watches:

After May 31, the Messenger Apple Watch app will no longer be available. However, you will still be able to receive Messenger notifications from your watch.”

A Facebook spokesperson said: “When paired, Messenger notifications will continue to arrive on Apple Watches. However, from the end of May, watches will no longer be able to respond. Messenger will continue to be used on iPhones, desktops, and the web.”

It is unclear why Meta made such a decision. However, we can say that this is a negative situation. As a result, one of the functions in Apple-branded smart watches will be unplugged…
