Apple has made an unexpected change to its native app store, the App Store. Thanks to the latest update made by the company, new rights are granted to developers. Chief among these is permission to publish apps with higher prices.
Change in app prices in the App Store
Apple offers publishers in the App Store many tiers of pricing for their apps. Developers who choose from the list can earn income from their applications according to the price they choose. Apple recently announced the addition of 700 new price tiers for App Store publishers.
Developers can now set prices from 0.29 cents to 10 thousand dollars for the applications they publish. The company had promised to increase pricing options for developers in August 2021.
Publishers must make a special request to Apple for the applications they develop from the top 100 tiers, that is, for a fee of $ 1000 or more. The company will then evaluate the request and, if deemed appropriate, approve the request.
In addition to these, Apple also announced a new exchange option for paid applications from developers. With this innovation, publishers will be able to set special prices for the currencies in the store. This feature may cause price changes for countries with high exchange rates.
In-app prices hiked in the euro zone
The US technology company announced that the prices of App Store apps and in-app purchases will increase in all countries and regions that use the Euro. Apple, in addition to Eurozone countries; It will also increase in-app and in-app purchase prices in Chile, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden and Vietnam.
