Cadillac, one of the legendary names of the automobile world, introduced the electric sedan car “Celestiq” at an event it held. The car, which has a very, very strange design, seems to enchant with its technical features.
Cadillac Celestiq appeared as a very long car, although we do not have numerical data. The long hood is the clearest indication of this. The closed and large grille of the vehicle allows us to instantly understand that this car is electric. The segmented headlight design makes one think that Celestiq is one of the few models that this design language suits.
Introducing the Cadillac Celestiq
Cadillac’s electric sedan model has an interesting rear design. The car actually looks like a station wagon, but it’s not. The stops coming from both the lower bumper and the body add a different atmosphere to the vehicle. Let’s say the rear wheels of the car turn 3.5 degrees. The reason for this is to increase the maneuverability of the vehicle.
The interior of the Cadillac Celestiq is as impressive as its exterior. So much so that there is a full 55-inch screen on the front console of this vehicle. Engineers have divided this screen into two and separated the fully digital display screen and the infotainment screen. The infotainment screen to be used by passengers blocks the driver’s view with its special technology. In this way, the driver’s attention is not distracted.
The interior design details of the electric sedan are not limited to these. In the center console of the Celestiq, there is another 11-inch monitor. At the back, there are 12.6-inch screens mounted on all seats. These screens allow control of both entertainment and features such as seat heating or air conditioning adjustment. Passengers sitting behind the Celestiq, which comes with a smart glass roof, will be able to adjust the roof transparency between 20 percent and 1 percent. Engineers used special materials to prevent the transparent roof from heating the interior of the car.
Built on General Motors’ Ultium platform, Cadillac Celestiq has a pair of electric motors. This engine, which has 600 horsepower and can produce 868 Nm of torque, enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 3.8 seconds. The electric sedan, which can travel 483 kilometers with its 111 kWh battery, can travel 126 kilometers when charged for 10 minutes with 200-kW DC fast charging support.
The sedan, which will start production in December 2023 at the earliest, will have numerous customization options. Cadillac has given so much importance to customization in its new car that some parts were produced with a 3D printer so that they can be customized directly.
A consumer who does not want any customization will sacrifice 300 thousand dollars for this electric sedan. Cadillac states that no Celestiq will be alike because almost every piece is open to customization.
