Ukraine, in the midst of the ongoing war with Russia, wants to release some of its war moments in the form of NFT. The country will thus continue to use crypto to fund its defence.
With the explosion of the NFT industry last year, many artists and institutions entered the industry to get their share from this market. Ukraine is also entering the NFT sector in order to stand up to the Russian occupation.
Ukraine initially wanted to do an airdrop to crypto donors, but this project was shelved.
The country’s deputy minister of digital transformation, Alex Bornyakov, gave more details on the matter. He stated that the digital collections will be “like a museum of the Russian-Ukrainian war” and emphasized that they want to explain the war to the world in the form of NFT.
The politician also denied allegations that the proceeds from crypto would be used to buy weapons. He stated that he would buy defense equipment instead.
