Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov said that he wants to receive his salary as CBDC.

Fedorov also wants to make his country a leading center for digital currencies after running a hugely successful crypto fundraiser during the war.

Ukraine Deputy Prime Minister to Get Salary in e-hryvnia

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Fedorov told reporters at the World Economic Forum that he wanted to be the first user of the planned CBDC and receive his salary in e-hryvnia.

Fedorov, who is also the minister of digital transformation in the country, ran a very effective crypto donation campaign for the Ukrainian armed forces.

Federov said the following about the CBDC study conducted in partnership with Stellar.

“Two weeks ago I saw a pilot of e-hryvnia in Ukraine.
I plan to be the first tester of e-hryvnia and receive my salary in e-hryvnia”

Shortly after the Russian invasion of the country, Federov announced that a virtual asset legislation, crypto tax law, and CBDC law would be enacted.

The crypto donation campaign led by Fedorov raised $178 million in aid.
