British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who took office this year, stated in his previous statements that they would follow a policy of banning all petrol-powered vehicles in 2030. Apparently, he and his cabinet did not find this decision realistic, because they decided to postpone it.

Petroleum-powered vehicles will be banned in the UK in 2035, not 2030

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has postponed a ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles in the UK from 2030 to 2035. Sunak says that he expects the majority of cars to be electric by 2030, thanks to developing technology.

However, they decided that it would take a little more time to transition to fully electric cars. Therefore, the ban will take place in 2035, not 2030. The policy that would have forced property owners to improve the energy efficiency of their properties was also scrapped.

Car manufacturers Jaguar and Land Rover state that Sunak’s plans are pragmatic and will bring Britain into line with other countries. What are you thinking? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
