Some developers are expected to keep not only new games but also their existing series alive and of high quality. Ubisoft is one of them. This company, which has long-established series such as Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, has had problems keeping these series of quality for a long time. The company finally took over the situation for Far Cry.
Ubisoft has announced that it has promoted Sandra Warren to the position of Vice President of Far Cry’s development team.
Ubisoft couldn’t hold a seam after Far Cry 3. The 4th and 6th games were not successful at all. However, Far Cry 5 was successful. Warren was also on the executive team of Far Cry 5.
So Ubisoft is very pleased with Warren and his work and thinks it will be a perfect fit for future oversight of the brand. With proven industry experience and a respected position within the organization, Warren will collaborate with the team responsible for brand portfolio management, the editorial department and the international production team.
Christophe Derennes, Managing Director of Ubisoft Montreal, added: “Sandra is an exemplary leader who seamlessly combines her experience in video game production with a global perspective on the brand. His deep understanding of studio dynamics and his innate ability to foster collaborative relationships make him an asset to our team. We invite our community to join us to congratulate him and wish him success in his new role.”
The author’s promotion is the second major upgrade to this brand recently. Drew Holmes, the author of one of the past games, has been promoted to IP Director and will thus be able to shape the future of the series in terms of writing. But Warren will have the highest-ranking role in the brand.
If you’re wondering why these positions really matter, it’s because Far Cry, while one of the best franchises Ubisoft has made, is also one of the most inconsistent. Ubisoft announced that the seventh main game of the series is being developed and even a multiplayer Far Cry game is being developed.
For this reason, Ubisoft wants to see people who are at the beginning of the popular games in the series. Returning to the roots of the series with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the company wants to capture a similar excitement in Far Cry.
Therefore, we can say that it is free to expect for Far Cry 7, albeit slowly. What are you thinking? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
