Ubisoft is frequently mentioned with the games it has developed. The company, which updated the platform application this year and named it Ubisoft Connect, aimed to establish a common platform application for all game consoles and PC. However, a list published by the company causes performance losses in Ubisoft games.
Many applications including Discord and TeamSpeak affect the performance of Ubisoft games
Interestingly, there are broadcast applications in the list published by Ubisoft. If the applications in the list run in the background of Ubisoft games, unwanted crashes and performance losses may occur. The list also includes extremely popular applications such as Discord, Skype, OBS, MSI Afterburner and Owerwolf.
Here are the applications that Ubisoft has released that cause performance problems:
Full screen apps | Overwolf |
Hardware imaging software | MSI Afterburner, Riva Tuner |
Peer-to-Peer software | BitTorrent, uTorrent |
RGB Controllers or game optimizers | Razer Synapse, SteelSeries Engine |
Live Broadcast software | OBS, XSplit Gamecaster |
Software that can affect applications | f. lux, Nexus Launcher |
Virtual network software | Hamachi |
Video chat services | Skype |
Virtualization software | VMware |
VoIP applications | Discord, TeamSpeak |
This list aside, the Ubisoft Support team went so far as to recommend removing all non-Microsoft services. It asks you to open “Run” by pressing the Windows and R keys, type MsConfig in the window that appears, go to the “Services” tab, then tick the “Hide All Microsoft Services” box and stop all remaining services.
Trying these steps is entirely at your own risk. If you have solved the problem in any Ubisoft game by trying these steps, you can share it with our other readers in the comments section.
