OnePlus announced last September that it will start using Oppo’s ColorOS interface instead of its own OxygenOS interface software on its future smartphones. However, after this statement, he faced a very harsh reaction from his fans, and these reactions apparently caused the company to change its decision.
OnePlus was one of the companies that took the stage during the Mobile World Congress 2022, which is currently being held in Barcelona. Speaking during the event, OnePlus OS Product President Gary Chen said that they gave up on their decision to the fans and stated that they are satisfied with and take into account the feedback from users: “We will continue to use the same code base, but remain as 2 different brands in line with the feedback from our customers. We decided.”
OnePlus’s OxygenOS interface and ColorOS interface are actually 2 different software using the same codebase. While admitting that there are similarities because they use the same code base, Chen also stated that they are aware that the OxygenOS 12 version does not meet the expectations of the community, but that they will fix the problems by releasing the Oxygen 12.1 version in North America, Europe and India soon.
