Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR), the most popular game in the Star Wars game universe, was preparing to appear again with a remake version. Even a trailer for the game was released and excited the players. However, when Sony quietly removed the trailer, question marks arose about the game. It looks like Star Wars KOTOR Remake has been delayed.
Star Wars KOTOR Remake has been postponed
Things are not going as expected for the remake version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was released in 2003 and shook the gaming world deeply. Even a trailer was released for the game, which was announced at PlayStation Showcase in 2021. However, new reports indicate that development of the RPG production has stalled.
According to the latest claim reported by Jeff Grubb, famous for his leaks, the work on the KOTOR remake has been suspended. The journalist stated that no studio is “currently working on this game.” Grubb stated that KOTOR is not actively run in any studio or in any way.
This statement aroused curiosity as it came after rumors that the project might have been canceled in recent months. The removal of the trailer from YouTube and Sony’s accusation of music licenses attracted the attention of the players.
Embracer Group, which owns the rights to the game, declined to comment on the game during a recent financial presentation. This further fueled speculation that it was cancelled.
Embracer Group owns Saber Interactive, which controls the remake. However, the company has recently been experiencing a corporate collapse that has also affected projects. Saber, which fired dozens of people, may have suspended Knights of the Old Republic.
