An extremely useful feature has been added to the beta version of Microsoft Edge. The so-called split window (split screen) function allows two websites to be viewed side-by-side without having to switch between tabs.

After the new feature is enabled, the split screen button appears in the top menu of the browser, right next to the address bar. When this button is pressed, the current tab moves to the left and you select one of the background tabs in the new window on the right.

Waiting for stable release

The split window feature built into Microsoft’s browser will definitely come in handy for users who need to work with several tabs at once. Until now, this required opening two different browser windows and bringing them side by side.

The new feature in the beta version of Edge makes this process easier. It should be noted that in its current state, the entire top menu of the web browser, including the address bar, remains common for both tabs. The split window is expected to be available in the stable version of the browser soon.
