Linda Yaccarino, the new CEO of Twitter, is preparing to head the social media platform today. Twitter owner Elon Musk will shift his focus to Tesla, SpaceX and other companies. According to the Wall Street Journal, the new CEO is hiring a partner from his previous job to handle the business operations at Twitter.

The arrival of Yaccarino is expected to bring advertisers back to the social media platform. Musk hoped that his plans to generate revenue through Twitter Blue subscriptions would be enough to make the company profitable, but the expected success has not yet been achieved. So advertisers are still very important to Twitter. While Musk wants to turn Twitter into the app for everything X, this is unlikely for a platform that can’t make money. That’s why Yaccarino needs to come and make the platform monetized.

In his previous role at NBC Universal, Yaccarino was Head of Global Advertising and Partnerships, generating $100 billion in advertising revenue in that position. Yaccarino also hired NBC vice president Joe Benarroch to work with him on Twitter. Benarroch was Yaccarino’s vice president at NBC. On the other hand, the official Benarroch’s role on Twitter has not been announced, but it is thought that Benarroch will focus on commercial operations, according to Reuters.

Twitter’s new CEO has a series of operations, staffing and changes ahead of him. But, frankly, we hope Yaccarino first establishes a press department. After Musk, Twitter closed this section and started to automatically respond to press e-mails with the “poop” emoji.
