Bluesky, which draws attention with its similarity to Twitter, was first opened to iPhone users, everyone can download it, but not everyone can become a member. Bluesky’s official site does not offer many details about the social network. Only users are allowed to join waiting lists to get an invitation code. A simplified version of Twitter, Bluesky is based on the AT protocol in the background. AT is similar in some ways to ActivityPub, the protocol that powers Mastodon, another social network that is quite similar to Twitter.
After the arbitrary decisions taken by Elon Musk on Twitter, Twitter alternatives began to emerge. The Mastodon of the Tweetbot developers, now the Bluesky of former Twitter boss Dorsey… Let’s see which social network will be next.
