Elon Musk, the founder of companies such as Tesla and SpaceX, announced that he would buy Twitter in the past months and stated that he would pay $ 44 billion to the popular social media platform. However, after this statement, the purchase process almost turned into a mess.

Twitter’s CEO, Parag Agrawal, announced that spam, bots and fake accounts on the platform are only 5%. Musk, on the other hand, claimed that this figure was much higher and that Twitter had “fooled” him about the purchase value.

Twitter announced that it will prove its 5% claim

Twitter officials announced that they will present documents called Firehose (fire hose) to Musk in a statement they made today. Firehose contains information about every tweet from the establishment of Twitter to the present day, from which device each account is logged in and some other information. Twitter officials will try to prove that there are only 5% of fake accounts, as they claim, by giving this data to Musk.

If the number of these fake accounts actually reaches 5%, Musk will have to buy Twitter under the terms of the contract. However, if the result is more than the rate claimed by the CEO of the company, the famous billionaire will be able to immediately abandon this purchase.

According to the information provided by the Washington Post, it is not possible for Twitter to make any ‘changes’ in this data, since this data is already shared with more than 20 companies. In the coming days, after Twitter delivers the data, Musk and his team will review the data and enter the ‘final level’ in the Twitter purchase.
