As you know, the most important agenda item of the last period is Twitter and Elon Musk’s purchase of the platform. Even yesterday, there was an important development in this regard; Elon Musk, who announced that he would lift the Twitter ban of former US President Donald Trump by making a statement, also received support from Twitter’s founder, Jack Dorsey. It seems that Musk has already started to implement his plans for Twitter.
Announcing that end-to-end encryption should come to Twitter messages in the past weeks, Musk said that he had previously declared war on bots on Twitter. Following this statement, Twitter announced that it introduced new rules about copy-paste tweets.
Will prevent scams
Accounts that we have come across frequently in the past months, hacking the accounts of celebrities and asking for crypto money from their followers, bothered Twitter. Likewise, duplicate tweets by bot accounts were also a problem for Twitter. According to the company’s new rules, messages shared by users that are very similar or identical to each other will be filtered.
These tweets and mentions shared according to this filtering will not appear in searches, cannot be used as sponsored tweets, and will not appear in recommendations. Although many people think that these measures are insufficient, it is clear that these rules are the first steps of Musk’s ‘bot cleaning’ project.
Despite all these rules, these ‘spam’ tweets will appear in your followers’ stream. Authorities also stated that accounts that violate these rules will not be closed.
