There has been a long discussion on Twitter whether to enable the tip feature or not. According to the company’s statement, iOS users can now use the tip box feature with applications such as Cash App.

Users will have the right to send fiat money to each other. It will also be possible to send tips with bitcoin over the Lightning Network. The reason for using Lightning Network is to provide higher speed and lower fees.

“People love money”

Announcing the tip feature with a funny post, Twitter said, “We tested the tips feature, people love money. We’re releasing it for iOS and Android soon.”

The tip feature was first tested in May. The system, which is supported by the Lightning Network, became ready for use with the integration of the Strike API. Thus, users will soon be able to tip each other with crypto money.

This is not Twitter’s only work on using blockchain products. In the social media platform, authentication can also be done with NFTs from now on. It is not yet clear when this feature will be available to everyone.

Twitter is focused on blockchain

It has been a matter of curiosity on Twitter whether the tip feature will be able to use Ethereum in the future, and whether the feature will be opened to desktop users. In the previously shared images, it was striking that tip could be sent with ETH.

Users will be able to link their crypto wallets to Twitter to use the new tip feature. Thus, the addresses where they can collect the tips or send tips will also be determined. This feature will also be available after the ownership of NFTs can be shown correctly.
