Twitter is testing many features on the platform to improve the user experience. The company has announced two new connected features that it has recently tested. The first of these is the alternative text that can be added to the images, while the other is the ‘ALT’ badge that allows you to see these texts in the shared images.
Available to all users in April
When posting an image on Twitter, users will see an ‘Add description’ button. A text about the content of the image can be written via this button. Users who want to view the alternative text will be able to access it via the ‘ALT’ badge at the bottom left of the shared image.
Twitter predicts that these two features will make it easier for users with low vision or cognitive disabilities to interact with the platform and content. It is also thought to be useful for getting information about the image in cases where the internet connection is not good.
Instagram removed Boomerang and Hyperlapse
Twitter, will test these two features with only 3% of total users for about a month. As a result of the feedback it will receive during this period, any errors will be corrected and a decision will be made on the global availability of the feature in April.
