Twitter has so far deprived its users of an interesting and must-have feature. A person using Twitter could not directly remove an unwanted follower from the follower list. Of course, there was an alternative solution instead: blocking the person and then unblocking them. However, this situation could also cause the person to remain blocked all the time, as we were often too lazy for the second situation.
In the past weeks, Twitter has tested the direct follower removal feature that its users have wanted for a long time. The feature was finally released today after weeks of testing. In particular, users had the opportunity to directly remove an unwanted follower from their follower list.
The new feature looks like this:
(Thanks, ‘check item’.)
If you don’t want any of your followers to follow you, what you need to do now is just three steps:
- Click on the ‘Followers’ option from your profile and go to the page where your followers are listed.
- Press the ellipsis next to a user you want to remove from your followers.
- Press the ‘Remove this follower’ option in the menu that opens.
Twitter’s follower removal feature only works on the web version yet. The feature is expected to come to the mobile side in the near future.
