The world’s most popular microblogging platform, Twitter, took radical decisions after it was acquired by Elon Musk. The most notable of these was the merceny of verification badges. Users had to be a Twitter Blue subscriber and agree to pay monthly in order to receive the verification badge. Moreover, as of last month, the platform removed the old-fashioned blue ticks.
Now, there has been a remarkable development on the subject. A vulnerability has been identified that restores old verification badges on Twitter. Users can undo their blue ticks by taking advantage of this bug. But let’s say that this too is temporary.
If you update your Twitter bio, you can get your blue tick back.
Discovered by TechCrunch’s Amanda Silberling, the exploit actually has a pretty simple working logic. If you have an account that has received a verification badge in the past and you change the bio on that account in any way, you can get your old blue tick back. Meanwhile; It doesn’t matter what changes you make in the bio. If you want, add a single space or rearrange it from scratch. The bug works in all cases.
The blue tick comes back but when I update the page it goes away
However, it is not clear how this reflects on other users today. So much so that the blue tick you get after updating your bio disappears when you refresh the page. It comes back when the bio is updated.
