To bypass the social network ban in Russia, Twitter has developed a simple solution. The social networking giant is preparing to launch a service that will automatically allow users in Russia to bypass the ban when connecting to Twitter. Thanks to the Tor service offered by the company, even if Twitter is banned in a country, users can bypass this ban and continue to use Twitter. The anonymity of the Tor service also means that users cannot be tracked by the government.
The new platform is based on a customized version of the Enterprise Onion Toolkit (EOTK) to meet Twitter’s “extraordinary production needs”. It is pointed out that the launch of the service coincided with the coming of the social media ban in Russia, and its purpose was primarily to provide uncensored access to all kinds of news to internet users in Russia.
The platform is available not only to users in Russia, but also to users in China, Iran and North Korea, where censorship is also in question.
