Until last month, Twitter had a button that lets you set a preference for which version of the timeline you want to use. That option has disappeared since the company rolled out a UI that lets you switch between the two timelines, and the app is set to turn on ‘Private for You’ by default.

Twitter loosens its Only For You imposition

However, it seems that Twitter is preparing to take a step back in this change. According to a tweet shared by Elon Musk, in the next update, Twitter will be less insistent on using the algorithmic timeline ‘For You’. In this way, you will be able to choose which timeline you want to see and stay in that timeline.

Along with the Twitter interface update, it actually brought some functional innovations. Among them is a feature similar to the save button on Instagram. It has been made possible to save the tweet you want with one click so that you can read it later. While these saved contents will be hidden, tweets added to bookmarks will be recorded as hidden likes and the likes of the original tweet will increase.

Perhaps the most important feature among these features is that it actually allows you to create a customized timeline. As you know, Lists have been on Twitter for a while. You can now add these lists next to the Private and Following tabs on the timeline. Therefore, it is possible to access the list you have created by swiping in the same interface.
