Live video streaming platform Twitch has announced that it will ban broadcasters who frequently share false information. Platform stated that they are working with many researchers and experts and said that they have determined 3 different criteria. For a publisher to be banned on the platform, they must meet all three criteria.
‘We don’t believe it has a place in our community’
Twitch wants to remove people who use the platform to spread false and harmful information. It is stated that the platform, which allows many people to follow their preferred broadcaster according to their specific interests, will not allow it to be a place where false information is shared and published.
Stating that they will not impose sanctions against one-time statements containing false information, the platform said that their aim is to prohibit people who dedicate their online existence to spreading harmful and false information from using Twitch, and shared three criteria that they will pay attention to in this context.

- Widespread dissemination of misinformation despite widespread rejection
- Sharing harmful misinformation topics such as conspiracies that incite violence

In a statement from Twitch: “While harmful misinformation is not prevalent on Twitch at the moment, we understand that this can evolve very quickly, and we have done so in all of our security policies on Twitch.
