Twitch, one of the most popular live broadcasting platforms in the world, announced that it has taken a radical decision that will change the user experience. According to the statements made by the platform, Twitch users will have 7 days to watch past broadcasts. However, this decision will not apply to all channels.
Twitch archived live broadcasts as part of a feature called Videos on Demand (VOD), and allowed users to access these broadcasts later. Post-tracking time; It was limited to 14 days for channels that did not activate Twitch Partner, Affiliate, Amazon Prime or Twitch Turbo services. This is now going to change. VOD on standard channels will only be available for 7 days from now on.
The new term will start on September 1
In the statement made by Twitch, it was stated that the decision on VOD will take effect as of September 1. Users will be able to continue to access the shares of channels that are not covered by Twitch Partner, Affiliate, Amazon Prime or Twitch Turbo until that date, within a 14-day period.
By the way; There will be no changes for Twitch channels covered by Twitch Partner, Affiliate, Amazon Prime or Twitch Turbo. Twitch users will have access to on-demand videos for these accounts for 60 days.
