An upcoming new feature of Twitch, one of the world’s most popular live streaming platforms, has surfaced. According to a shared screenshot, publishers will now be able to ban toxic users from the entire channel, not just the chat. So how will this be possible? Let’s take a closer look at this new feature together.

As a matter of fact, the user ban feature on Twitch has already existed for years. Today, publishers can ban a user who is toxic while streaming. However, this ban consisted of only the chat section. In other words, the banned user continued to watch the broadcast, but could not send a message to the chat section. The new feature, which is currently in the testing phase, also prevents a banned user from watching the broadcast instantly.

It will work as a feature at the discretion of the publisher!

A screenshot made available through publishers included in the testing program reveals that this feature will be optional. In other words, the publisher will only activate the ban feature if it wants to. However, it should be noted that a banned user can continue to watch clips or videos shared in the past.

According to the information obtained, Twitch’s new feature will be available globally as of September. When those days come, all users will need to be mindful of their actions in broadcasts. Otherwise, they may not be able to access the broadcasts of their favorite broadcasters. Finally, let me also point out that; Twitch’s true banning feature is currently in its infancy. The platform will expand the scope of this feature in the future. We will see how this will turn out in the future.
