Twitter, which has almost doubled the number of users especially in the last few years, is nowadays known as the only platform in our country where hundreds of topics from politics to entertainment are discussed at the same time. Some users prefer to use TweetDeck’s more comprehensive interface instead of Twitter’s simple interface.
TweetDeck is actually known as an ‘interface’ for Twitter with alternative skins and different tools. This interface, which was put into use in 2008, was bought by Twitter in 2011 for 40 million dollars. In 2016, it started to be redesigned to make it more comprehensive and aesthetic.
TweetDeck’s application has been removed from the MacOS store
Twitter officials announced that the MacOs application of TweetDeck, which has alternative interfaces, has been closed as of today. Officials stated that the reason for this ‘radical’ preference is to allocate more workforce to the new TweetDeck interface they are working on. For the same reason, the company closed the iOS and Android applications of the platform in 2013 and ended the support of the Windows application in 2016. However, the platform can now be used comfortably by both mobile and computer over the website.
TweetDeck, which appeared to be paid in recent months, was harshly criticized by users. Now, TweetDeck officials, who have closed the macOS application, are exposed to criticism from users on the Mac App Store and Twitter.
TweetDeck’s interface, which began public testing last year, won the hearts of many users. TweetDeck sends this new interface to some users it chooses and improves the interface by receiving feedback from them.
