According to the results of the household information technologies usage survey; In 2023, the rate of households with Internet access from home increased by 1.4 points compared to the previous year and became 95.5%. Internet usage among individuals aged 16-74 was 87.1 percent.

The rate of those who purchased goods or services from e-commerce platforms in the last 12 months has been recorded as 49.5 percent. In 2022, this rate was determined as 46.2 percent. The rate of online ordering was 52.4% for men and 46.6% for women. The rate of those who said that they placed an order in the last 3 months (the first 3 months of 2023) was 38 percent.

The most encountered problems were slower than stated delivery with 13.6% and wrong or damaged goods/service delivery with 11.1%, respectively.

The rate of individuals who have carried out learning activities for educational, vocational or private purposes over the internet in the last 3 months increased by 2.8 points compared to the previous year and became 18.7% in 2023. This rate was found to be 18.1% for men and 19.4% for women.

The most used social media and messaging applications by individuals were WhatsApp with 84.9%, YouTube with 69.0% and Instagram with 61.4%. When the most used social media and messaging applications are examined by gender; It was observed that men mostly used WhatsApp with 88.7%, YouTube with 72.6% and Instagram with 63.5%, while women used WhatsApp with 81.1%, YouTube with 65.4% and Instagram with 59.3%.
