Turkcell successfully carried out the first trials of the new generation Wi-Fi technology Wi-Fi 7, which stands out with its high speed and low latency values. The speed obtained in Wi-Fi 7 tests has been announced.Turkcell will offer high-speed internet to internet users thanks to its Wi-Fi 7 wireless connection technology. The 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz frequency bands can be used simultaneously in the wireless network. Thanks to the Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology, a wide range of usage will be offered to every user in multiple connections.
How fast is Wi-Fi 7?
Wi-Fi 7 technology can offer download speeds 13 times faster than Wi-Fi 5 technology, which is currently widely used in homes, and 5 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 technology. With extra modulation technologies, speeds up to 46 Gbps can be seen. It offers an enhanced experience in VR, AR, metaverse and online games without the need for a wired connection, thanks to its high download speed and low latency improved up to 100 times. With the advantage of this technology, Turkcell also plans to launch new generation services that can be used in the home and office.
8 Gbps speed was achieved in Turkcell’s tests
Turkcell Deputy General Manager for Network Technologies Gediz Sezgin said, “As Turkcell, we have achieved speeds of over 8 Gbps in Wi-Fi 7 technology. These results show us that the speeds that can already be given over the cable in the house will now be able to be delivered wirelessly as well.”
