There was an unexpected development about Tumblr, which was first introduced in 2007, which managed to attract attention in those years, but lost its popularity in the following years, especially due to Twitter (now X) and eventually faded into oblivion. The platform presented its brand new interface created for the web version to the users. Tumblr’s new interface appeared as a copy of X’s original interface.
Tumblr’s navigation bar used to be located at the top right. The user who wanted to share was using an option in this navigation bar. In the upper left corner, there was the search bar. The new interface replaced all that and introduced an X-like layout. Users will feel as if they are using X while browsing Tumblr.

As you can see in the GIF above, Tumblr’s new interface will offer users a brand new and familiar experience. In the statement made on the subject, it is stated that such a change has been made to facilitate the user experience. But this is the obvious reason. Tumblr CEO Matt Mullenweg announced in a statement in November 2022 that there was an increase in the number of users after Elon Musk bought Twitter. Tumblr is making such changes to become the classic Twitter.

It is not yet clear how Tumblr’s new interface will be welcomed by users. It is obvious that internet users are looking for an alternative platform to X, but would this be Tumblr? Time will tell the answer to this question, but it should not be forgotten that Tumblr has turned into a platform full of obscene content for a while. We will see what time will bring.
