According to the Financial Times, TSMC’s 2nm chips will be used first in iPhone 17 Pro models. Apple has long been TSMC’s largest customer. The cutting-edge production processes developed by the company are being used by Apple for the first time. Apple’s current chips A17 Pro and M3 are produced with the 3nm process. It is no surprise that the first customer of TSMC, which will switch to the 2nm production process in 2025, will be Apple. Therefore, we can see the first 2nm processors in the iPhone 17 Pro series.
It is stated that TSMC is going according to plans in the 2nm process and there will be no delay. The company describes the 2nm process as “the industry’s most advanced semiconductor technology” in terms of transistor density and power consumption.
