Taiwan semiconductor manufacturer TSMC is preparing to establish a giant 1 nm processor factory. The new factory, which will have the definition of Giga Fabs, will also include 6 different production lines. In addition, there will be 1.4 nm and 2 nm processors in the factory. But when will this giant factory come into play?
When will TSMC Giga Fabs come into play for 1 nm processor production?
In the processor world, the NM level is now preparing to descend to the level of 1 nm. For now, we will reach this level for 2030. In this sense, TSMC focused both increasing the existing fabrication capacity and transition to 1.4 Nm and 1 Nm Technology.
Accordingly, the company will make this big investment in the Tainan region of Taiwan. The Taiwan government plans to make the Tainan region like a kind of Silicon Valley in this sense. In this sense, TSMC will also receive a state incentive for Giga Fabs to be established in the region.

The giant factory, which consists of 6 different production facilities, will be ready in 2030. This giant factory is planned to produce 12 -inch wafer.

AMD gave date! RX 9000 graphics cards can shake NVIDIA
AMD’s new generation Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards will be introduced very soon. The new graphics cards will compete with the RTX 5070 and 5060 Ti.
For now, technology giants are preparing to switch to 2 nm processors. Particularly with the effect of artificial intelligence, TSMC, which is forced to catch up with orders, pursues more shares from the cake with new facilities instead of losing the market to its competitors. Recently, he started to work with TSMC for new artificial intelligence processors in Nvidia.
The fact that Intel and Samsung are left behind on the processor production side strengthens TSMC’s hand. In this sense, the company is in pursuit of opening the factory that will produce 2 NM processors in Germany in 2027. Again in Japan, a joint processor factory project with TSMC’s Japanese companies continues.
For now, we’ll have to wait 5 years for the processors to reach the next level. Although the Intel 2NM is currently trying to switch to processor production, Samsung is not yet enough for 3 nm processor performance. TSMC will first reduce the 2NM processor production to 1.4 nm in existing facilities. This is expected to reach 2027. In 2030, the first 1 nm processor production started is among the expectations.
Do you think this long wait can increase competition in the processor market? Do you think that TSMC does for AMD, Nvidia, Apple, MediaTek and Qualcomm alone can cause a new crisis in processor production? We are waiting for your comments and opinions.
