READING NOW TSMC has started testing 3nm chips for iPhone!

The world’s leading semiconductor manufacturer TSMC has started to accelerate the production of 3nm (nanometer) chips for iPhone processors. The two companies aim to produce 3nm chips for Macs by 2023. In addition, the iPhone is expected to switch to 3nm chips in 2023. Thus, it is possible for Apple to maintain its leadership in silicon performance in the smartphone market.

Now, new claims about chip production have emerged. Here are the details…

When is the market date for iPhone 3nm chips?

Apple Insider included the claims of DigiTimes in its news. Accordingly, TSMC, the processor manufacturer of iPhones, announced that it has started pilot production of 3nm chips. Moreover, in the news in question, it was claimed that mass production is expected at the end of 2022.

TSMC is already very close to completing the 3nm processor production process for iPhone devices. According to DigiTimes, some unnamed sources have confirmed previous rumors that the company is on the 3nm production path. “TSMC has started pilot production of chips created using N3 (i.e. 3nm process technology) at its Fab 18 in Southern Taiwan. It will move the process into mass production by the fourth quarter of 2022. ” they stated.

Currently, Apple’s A15, M1, M1 Pro and M1 Max processors all have 5nm technology. Using a smaller technology will allow Apple to make significant gains in both performance and efficiency. If these claims are true, Apple is likely to launch products using 3nm processors in early 2023.

Apple’s goal of using 3nm chips in the Mac, iPhone and iPad was first stated by The Information last month. Some rumors were that the iPhone 14 would come with a 3nm chip in 2022. But the change is expected to kick off with iPhone and Mac in 2023.

So, what are your thoughts on this subject? How do you think Apple’s plans? We are waiting your comments…
