Truecaller introduces AI-powered call recording
Caller ID app Truecaller has launched call recording feature for both iOS and Android. Although the restrictions in both operating systems do not allow call recorder apps to record phone calls, Truecaller solves this problem by calling the dedicated recording line.

Exclusive to premium users

Truecaller first introduced the artificial intelligence call recording feature to users in the United States, and will gradually be activated in other countries. However, it will be a feature that only Premium subscribers can take advantage of. The new feature clearly records the conversation of both parties and provides a summary of the entire call log, converting the call log into easy-to-read text. Thanks to the LLM technology, the desired conversations can be easily found in the search.

Incoming and outgoing calls can be recorded

Call recorder allows users to record incoming and outgoing calls from within the app. Every detail is protected while spam and unwanted calls are blocked. Users can name, share, or delete call logs. Truecaller says all recordings will be kept locally on the user’s device. For users who want to back up their recordings, the option to back up to Google Drive and iCloud is offered.

Google has restricted

Truecaller introduced the call recording feature for the Android platform in 2018, limiting it to premium users until 2021. In 2022, Google restricted access to the Accessibility API that many apps, including Truecaller, use to record calls. That’s why the feature was removed from the application.
