The Bill of Law on Making Changes in Some Laws, including the removal of TRT’s share from electricity bills, was submitted to the parliament today. While 22 of 317 deputies abstained from voting, 1 person rejected the new bill. However, the proposal was accepted with the approval of the remaining 294 deputies.
The Law on Amending Certain Laws brought with it many new regulations as well as the abolition of the TRT share. The law concerns all citizens, from tradesmen to students.
The new law proposal was accepted by a majority of votes.
According to the Law Amending Some Laws, which was accepted with the approval of the majority in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey today;
- With the effect of the increase in energy prices, the share of TRT in energy sales will be removed in order to alleviate the burden on consumers. According to the calculations of economists, there will be a 3% decrease in electricity bills with this decision.
- According to vocational education high schools, 12th grade students will receive a net salary of 50 percent of the minimum wage during their internship.
- “Energy Transformation Department” will be established under the Energy Market Regulatory Authority.
- Within the scope of the law on the protection of intellectual and artistic works, if it is determined that any work is used or traded without permission from the copyright holders, the person who uses the work without permission will be sentenced to imprisonment between 6 months and 2 years.
- Fish facilities established in forest waters will be inspected according to legal regulations. The essential needs of institutions that grow fish, mussels and oysters in the seas will be supported by the state.
- Industrial areas in Dulkadioğulları, Onikişubat and Türkoğlu districts of Kahramanmaraş will be declared as Organized Industrial Zones.
- Within the scope of the Dimensions and Adjustment Law; Inspections will be increased in order to prevent illegal transactions with wrong settings and measurements in electricity, water and gas meters, and people who are determined to use the wrong measuring instrument consciously will be penalized with administrative fines.
