As part of the Commonwealth of Nations, Dominica collaborated with Tron (TRX) to digitize its currency.
Justin Sun, the founder of the crypto platform, announced his partnership with Dominica via social media. Dominica partnered with Tron after passing the Virtual Asset Business Act from its parliament this year. As a result of the collaboration, Tron is launching the Dominica Coin (DMC).
Tron Received From Caribbean Country
The thriving cryptocurrency industry continues to expand. After the corporate companies, countries started to take a place in this field. Especially the studies on CBDC, El Salvador’s BTC reserve, metaverse studies created a busy agenda.
Going to economic restructuring, Dominica authorized cryptocurrencies within Tron as a medium of exchange. Accordingly, TRX, BTT, JST, NFT, USDD, USDT, TUSD from ecosystem products have been authorized in the country and have legal status.
Dominica’s move to a digital currency could benefit in promoting the country as a place with great tourism capacities and rich natural heritage.
In addition, ensuring the economic progress of the country is among the priority targets. Commenting on this development, Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit explained:
“This means embracing digital innovation for Dominica. We have also designated the Tron Protocol as the designated national blockchain infrastructure. We have taken a historic step towards increasing economic growth.
