Nvidia, one of the leading names in the graphics card market, continues to update the Ampere RTX 3000 series compared to the RTX 4000 series. Niketim, we have previously told you that the RTX 3060 series has been updated with higher memory modules and capacities. Now Nvidia is preparing to introduce a brand new version of the RTX 3050.
New GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB revealed
For those who don’t know, RTX 3050 was introduced in January 2022 with GA106-150 GPU, 2,560 CUDA cores, 1.78GHz clock speed, 128-bit bus, 8GB GDDR6 memory and 115W TGP. At this point, the new version is expected to be a more trimmed model. According to reports, it will be paired with GA107-325 GPU and will offer a clock speed of 1470 MHz, which is 17 percent lower than the base model.
Additionally, the current report states that the card will need lower power with 6GB memory, 96-bit memory bus and 70W TGP. So it won’t require an external power connector.
- RTX 3050 8 GB – GA106-150 / 2560 Core / 1777 MHz clock speed / 115W TGP / 8 GB 128 bit
- RTX 3050 6 GB – GA107-325 / 1470 MHz clock speed / 70W TGP / 6 GB 96 bit
The GeForce RTX 3050 6GB graphics card is expected to go into production in January 2024 and be launched thereafter. At this point, the new card will be a new solution against the increasing competition at the entry level. As you know, both AMD and Intel are in stiff competition in this field. So much so that we previously told you that the Intel Arc A580 model is on the way. Therefore, a revised RTX 3050 6 GB could achieve success in the $150 segment.
