READING NOW Toyota’s flying taxi made a show: Full marks in the tests!

Japanese automotive giant Toyota has taken an important step towards bringing the flying taxis we see in science fiction movies to real life. The eVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) vehicle, capable of electric vertical takeoff and landing, developed by Joby Aviation, an American company supported by Toyota, was introduced to the press at Toyota’s Shizuoka Research Center in Japan. Here are the details…

Toyota’s flying taxi dream comes true: eVTOL, which can reach a speed of 320 km/h, was tested for the first time!

The prototype, which was introduced to the media for the first time, can reach a maximum speed of 320 km/h. Today, as a global race continues in flying vehicle technology, it is said that Toyota has taken a step that will completely change urban transportation in the future with this model.

By the way, Toyota did not only invest in this flying taxi project. It also provided additional funding of $500 million to Joby Aviation. The purpose of this major investment is to ensure that the eVTOL vehicle passes the necessary certification processes and is prepared for commercial production as soon as possible.

The announcement made today (November 4) showed once again how seriously Toyota looks at the flying vehicle industry. So much so that Joby Aviation plans to not only produce these vehicles but also establish a transportation network within its own structure. So, instead of selling the vehicle only to airlines or logistics companies, Joby plans to offer services to its own customer network with an Uber-style model.

Joby Aviation plans to start its flying taxi service in Dayton, Ohio, USA, by 2025. If the service is successful, similar urban transportation solutions are expected to spread rapidly around the world.

This vehicle, which is currently only in the testing phase in Japan, will perhaps travel in the sky rather than on the crowded streets of metropolises in the very near future. What do you think? Do you think Toyota can achieve this? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
