Toyota Yaris Cross, the model chosen as the ‘city car of the year’ of Japanese automobile giant Toyota, was introduced with a launch in our country in the past months. The sales price of the Yaris Cross, which is a larger version of the original Yaris with minor touches, did not satisfy the users.

Yaris Cross, one of Toyota’s most successful models in the B-SUV segment, will be on the road towards the end of the year with a new model. The full name of the new model, called GR, which stands for Gazoo Racing, Toyota’s performance car division, will be Yaris Cross GR Sport. Let’s take a closer look at the Yaris Cross GR Sport, with sporty touches added.

Here is the new Yaris Cross GR Sport

Cars such as the GR Yaris and GR Supra, which are among Toyota’s GR models, are precisely defined as speed and performance cars. However, the innovations made for the GR Sport models are limited to the innovations made in the engine and exterior appearance rather than power.

It is stated that some improvements made in the chassis of the car have a very positive effect in terms of handling. At the same time, the suspension system of the Yaris Cross GR Sport has been renewed to improve steering precision and the car has been lowered by 10 mm.

In terms of design, we see that the car has become more muscular. However, it cannot be said that the Cross GR Sport is much different from the Yaris Cross in terms of both front and rear design, except for the grilles. For the GR version of Toyota, there will be a 1.5-liter 118-horsepower engine under the hood, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels. The car, which will have four-wheel drive, will have a gasoline-electric hybrid system.

Among the highlights inside are the gray synthetic leather and suede seat upholstery, the three-spoke steering wheel that has changed and gained a sporty look. In addition, light gray stitching on the seats, silver coatings on the doors and instrument panel, pedals and headrests made of aluminum material, the GR logos on the steering wheel and key fobs draw attention.

As with the Yaris Cross, Toyota offers users a 7.0 inch touch screen, climate-controlled air conditioning, Toyota Connected Services and a number of advanced security assistance features as standard in this model.

There is no information about the price of the car, which is expected to be sold in Japan from August and in Europe towards the end of the year, and whether it will be offered for sale in our country.
