An interesting decision was made on the Finnish island of Ulko-Tammio, in an age where smartphones are in our hands. A phone-free campaign was launched for visitors to the island, which is among Finland’s national parks.
With the campaign, of course, there will be no ban on the use of phones for visitors. They will only be encouraged to put their phones in their pockets and experience the island and nature to the fullest.
The campaign may not be limited to just this candidate in the future:
Joel Heino from Finnish Parks and Wildlife organization pointed out that the new campaign could be implemented in different regions:
Contrary to the use of the phone, the island, which was promoted, is home to rare birds and plants. It also has many walking routes and shores intertwined with plants. Visits to the region are made by private boats or water taxis and buses.
