The organization, which was known as the “Consumers Association” in the past, and now exists as Consumer Reports and conducts consumer satisfaction research in almost every category, has listed the brands that produce the best cars according to the most recent test results. Investigations have produced remarkable results.
Consumer Reports, which tests the produced cars in categories such as handling, reliability, safety and emission values, combines the results with the comments of the vehicle owners, and gives final scores to the brands as a result, revealed that BMW is the best car manufacturer according to the rating score. Land Rover was at the bottom of the list, where Mercedes-Benz, one of BMW’s arch-rivals, ranked 26th.
“It’s not surprising that BMW is at the top”
Commenting on the research, Consumer Reports spokesperson Jake Fisher said: “BMW produces many high-performance, full-featured and reliable models.” Therefore, it is not surprising to see BMW at the top of the brand ranking.
Before moving on to the brands, let’s take a closer look at how the vehicles are tested:
- Road tests: Vehicles are put through more than 50 road tests.
- Reliability: Defects that can be foreseen are detected through surveys conducted with vehicle owners.
- Safety: The accident tests of the vehicles and their safety equipment are examined.
- Satisfaction: A survey is conducted with vehicle owners and it is analyzed whether they will buy the same car again.
As a result of the blending of all these, the final scores emerge.
